For this tip, you would need to setup the rpm-shere repository. You can get the information here. Once you have done that you need to install the cdu package with the following command:

sudo yum install cdu

And then you can use “cdu” to view the disk usage in all beautiful colors with the command:

cdu

and the output looks like this:

If you are looking for a command to see the disk usage by each of the rpm‘s then you can use this command:

  <td>
    <div class="text codecolorer">
      &nbsp;rpm -q --queryformat "%10{SIZE}\t%{NAME}\n"
    </div>
  </td>
</tr>

And if you use this command very regularly then you can create an alias like

  <td>
    <div class="text codecolorer">
      &nbsp;alias rpm_size='rpm -q --queryformat "%10{SIZE}\t%{NAME}\n" '
    </div>
  </td>
</tr>

and use it like

Head over to http://ninite.com/linux/makeuseof and you will find a nice utility created by the makeuseof guys. This will allow you to select the applications that you want to install and once you have made the selection you can download the unattended installer.

Well, to be frank with you I really do not see the need for this unless you don’t know how to add repositories or install simple stuff. Most of this (no, actually all of this except dropbox in my Fedora setup with the repositories that I have set). Now for one application why would I do that if that was available for Fedora. Any-ways pretty good for newbies, still.
